About Yield Clarity

Built from experience, not theory

Yield Clarity began with a simple question: where are my investments actually taking me?

It was never only a question about compound growth. It was about spending, property, contributions, currencies, the decisions still to come, and the point at which work could become optional.

Founder story

Why Gary built Yield Clarity

Yield Clarity was founded by Gary, a software entrepreneur and long-term investor with experience building financial technology products. Gary has built software since 2004 and has invested for the long term since around 2010. In 2014 his interest in markets extended into short-term forex and futures trading.

Gary also built a forex and futures trading software business, taking it from launch to approximately £5 million in annual revenue before a successful exit. It was not his first venture, but it was the largest.

The exit brought a new and very personal problem. Funds had been built up over many years. What should that money do next, and how should the years ahead be planned around it?

Years of experience with both long-term investing and speculative trading had given him a much stronger belief in patient, long-term investing as the more powerful route to lasting financial freedom. In 2023, he stopped short-term trading to focus on it.

The next step was planning, and that is where existing tools fell short. Compound interest calculators felt more like dream calculators: they produced an impressive future value, isolated from the rest of a financial life.

“I did not want another calculator showing an impressive future number. I wanted to understand how my investments connected to the life I was trying to build.”

Gary, Founder and CEO

No existing product combined portfolio tracking, financial independence planning, transparent assumptions and scenario modelling in one place. So Gary drew on his experience in software, financial markets, investing and building a business to create Yield Clarity: a system that connects investments, property, cash, spending, contributions, currencies, assumptions and future decisions into one understandable plan.

The missing connection

The problem was never a shortage of calculators. It was that investments, contributions, spending, property and future goals lived in different places.

A compound interest calculator can illustrate a possibility. It cannot map out a financial life.

Yield Clarity brings together

  • Investments and cash
  • Property and other assets
  • Contributions
  • Current and future spending
  • Inflation and return assumptions
  • Multiple currencies
  • Scenarios and life decisions
  • Uncertainty across long-term outcomes

From an idea to a company

Now built by a growing team

Yield Clarity started with Gary’s own planning problem. Its purpose is broader: to give individual investors planning tools that are understandable, connected and transparent.

Today we are a team of four, combining product, software and financial technology experience. We will keep growing the team as the platform develops.

What we believe

  1. Clarity over false certainty

Forecasts should expose uncertainty rather than pretending to predict the future.

  2. Your financial life is connected

Investments should be considered alongside spending, property, contributions and future decisions.

  3. Assumptions should remain visible

You should be able to see what drives a result and understand why it changes.

  4. Powerful planning should be understandable

You should not need professional modelling experience to build a meaningful plan.

Who Yield Clarity is for

Long-term investors who want to understand what their decisions could mean in practice, including:

  • People working towards financial independence
  • Investors moving beyond spreadsheets
  • People managing assets across accounts or currencies
  • Property owners who also invest
  • People comparing different long-term decisions and scenarios

What we do not do

Yield Clarity is a planning and educational product. It:

  • Is not a financial adviser
  • Does not manage money
  • Does not execute trades
  • Does not recommend particular investments
  • Does not guarantee outcomes
  • Produces projections, not predictions
