Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal and financial information Yield Clarity collects, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Last updated

The short version

  • We use your financial information to provide your planning service, not for advertising.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • Broker connections, where available, are read-only. Yield Clarity cannot trade or move money.
  • Payments are handled by Paddle. We never receive your full card number.
  • Our website uses analytics cookies, which you can turn off at any time from Cookie settings.
  • You can contact us about your information at privacy@yieldclarity.com.

This summary is for convenience. The full policy below is what applies.

1. Who we are

Yield Clarity is a product of Swift Tech Stack FZCO, a company established in the United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). We decide how and why your personal information is processed for the Yield Clarity website and application (the “Service”), so we are responsible for it as the controller where that concept applies.

For anything about your personal information, contact us at privacy@yieldclarity.com.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile

  • Your email address and password when you register, and your name if you give it. Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
  • Profile details you choose to add, such as your date of birth (used to estimate pension access ages and retirement dates) and your base currency.
  • A profile photo if you upload one. It is cropped in your browser, stripped of hidden image data such as location, and stored privately rather than publicly.
  • Two-factor sign-in settings if you turn them on, including an encrypted authenticator secret and hashed recovery codes.

Financial and planning information you add

  • Plans, investments and holdings, property and mortgages, pensions, cash, other assets and their values over time.
  • Contributions, spending plans, expected costs, retirement and forecast assumptions, and scenarios.
  • Daily snapshots of your plan's value, used to show portfolio history.

Statement and spending imports

If you import a bank statement, we read the file to extract transactions. The original file is not stored. Extracted transactions are held, encrypted, for your review and are cleared once you confirm or cancel the import, or after a short time if you do neither. Transactions you confirm are saved to your plan, together with basic details of the import such as the file name and statement dates.

Connected broker accounts

Where broker connections are available on your plan and you choose to connect an account, you give us the access details the provider requires, such as an API key or sign-in details. These are stored encrypted and used only to read information from the provider. We import information such as accounts, balances, positions, transactions, dividends, fees and order history, and keep records of each sync.

Plan sharing

If you invite someone to a plan, we store their email address, the name you give them and their access level. Members of a shared plan can see each other’s name, email address and profile photo.

Billing

Payments are processed by Paddle. We receive and keep your subscription details (plan, billing period, status and renewal dates), transaction and invoice records, your billing email address, and limited payment-method details: the payment type, card brand, last four digits, expiry date and cardholder name. We never receive your full card number. Billing address and tax details are held by Paddle and shown to you from Paddle when you view your billing settings.

Technical and security information

  • Security events on your account, such as two-factor changes, recovery-code use and failed verification attempts.
  • Records of changes to shared plans and connected accounts, such as who changed a member's access.
  • Your IP address and basic request details, which our systems process to deliver the Service and to limit repeated or abusive requests.

Communications

If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you and keep a record of the conversation.

Affiliate referrals

We run an affiliate programme through Tolt. If you arrive through a partner’s link, Tolt records the visit (the partner link, the page you landed on and the page you came from) and sets cookies so the partner can be credited. If you then sign up or subscribe, Tolt receives your email address and the details of your subscription, so the partner can be paid commission.

Website analytics

On our marketing website, Google Analytics collects information about your visit, such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type, so we can see how the site is used and improve it. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and you can turn analytics off at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stays off. The Yield Clarity app itself does not use an analytics or advertising service.

3. Where information comes from

  • You, when you create an account, add information or contact us.
  • Brokers you connect, when broker connections are available and you choose to use them.
  • Paddle, about your subscription and payments.
  • Tolt, if you arrive through an affiliate partner's link.
  • Your browser or device, when you use the website or app.
  • People who invite you to a plan, who give us your email address.

4. How we use information and our legal bases

Some laws, such as the UK and EU GDPR, require us to explain the legal basis for each use. The table below sets these out.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items. Essential ones are needed for the Service to work. Google Analytics on the marketing website is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer. If you arrive through an affiliate partner’s link, Tolt sets cookies automatically so the partner can be credited.

6. When we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run the Service or where the law requires it:

  • Paddle, which processes payments and manages subscriptions, invoices and tax.
  • Infrastructure and email providers that host the Service and our mailboxes on our behalf.
  • Google, which provides analytics on our marketing website, unless you turn it off.
  • Tolt, which runs our affiliate programme, if you arrive through a partner's link.
  • Market-data providers, which receive the names of instruments being priced and the search terms you type when looking up an investment, but not who you are.
  • Brokers you connect, which receive the access details needed to read your account information.
  • People you invite to a plan, who see that plan and the member details described above.
  • Professional advisers, and authorities or courts where the law requires it or to protect people or the Service.
  • A buyer or successor, if Yield Clarity or Swift Tech Stack FZCO is reorganised or sold, under the same protections described here.

7. Where information is processed

The Yield Clarity application and its databases are hosted in the European Union. Swift Tech Stack FZCO is established in the United Arab Emirates, and some of the providers listed above, such as Paddle, Google, Tolt and market-data providers, may process information in other countries, including the United States.

If you would like more information about how your information is protected when it is processed outside your country, contact us at privacy@yieldclarity.com.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as your account is open and you use the Service, and for longer only where we need to. For example:

  • Statement files are not stored. Extracted transactions awaiting review are cleared when you confirm or cancel, or after a short time.
  • Plans you delete can be restored for 30 days and are then permanently removed. You can also delete a plan permanently straight away.
  • Plan invitations expire after 7 days.
  • When you disconnect a broker, your access details are deleted straight away. Information already imported is kept with your plan unless you remove it.
  • Billing and transaction records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes.

When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your information, except records we must keep for legal, tax or security reasons. Backups are overwritten over time.

9. How we protect information

Connections to Yield Clarity are encrypted, access to account and plan data is checked against the signed-in user, and sensitive items such as two-factor secrets, broker access details and statement imports in progress are encrypted by the application. Broker connections are read-only: Yield Clarity cannot place trades or move money.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. The Security page explains our approach in more detail.

10. Your choices and rights

In the app

  • Edit or delete holdings, assets, plans, scenarios and your profile photo.
  • Disconnect a broker connection at any time.
  • Export reports for a plan as PDF, CSV or JSON on paid plans.
  • Turn two-factor sign-in on or off.

Rights that depend on where you live

Depending on the law that applies to you, for example in the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United Arab Emirates or some US states, you may have the right to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent you have given. These rights are not identical everywhere and can have exceptions.

How to make a request

To close your account, request a copy of your personal information or exercise another right, email privacy@yieldclarity.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You may also be able to complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK or the supervisory authority in your EU country.

11. Automated decisions

Yield Clarity calculates forecasts and probabilities from the information and assumptions you provide. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, such as decisions about credit or eligibility.

12. Children

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change and show the date of the latest change at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
