Net worth and FI-eligible wealth
Not everything you own will fund your independence
Net worth counts everything. FI-eligible wealth is the part you intend to live on: the figure your FI target and estimated date are measured against. You choose what's in it.
- Your home counts in net worth, but its equity isn't treated as money to live on.
- An emergency fund stays tracked, outside the FI calculation.
- A house deposit or school-fees pot can be left out.
Different assets, modelled differently
Each asset keeps the detail that shapes your plan
A flat, a pension and a share don't behave like one balance. Each is valued in its own way and in its own currency, then added into your base currency.

Holdings with prices you can trace
Each holding shows its units, price and currency, what you paid and what it's worth now. Market-priced holdings are marked Live; everything else uses the value you set.
History
Available on Plus and ProSee what changed, and why
History separates the money you added or withdrew from the change in value, so a strong month of saving isn't mistaken for a strong month in the markets. The gain is an estimate, not a time-weighted return.
Your position is recorded daily on every plan from when you start; viewing the history is included in Plus and Pro.
Control stays with you

Each holding, account and asset has its own treatment.

Questions
Portfolio tracking, answered
What can I track?
Investments (funds, ETFs, shares, bonds and cryptocurrency) alongside pensions, cash, property with its mortgages, and other assets such as private company shares or vehicles. Each is recorded in its own currency.
What is FI-eligible wealth?
The part of your net worth you've chosen to fund financial independence: the figure your FI target and estimated date are measured against. Each holding and cash account can be included or left out; property equity counts in net worth only.
Read the FI-eligible wealth guideCan I connect a broker?
For supported brokers, yes, on Plus or Pro: Plus includes one connection and Pro multiple connections. Connections are read-only: they import the eligible accounts and investments the provider makes available, and sync periodically rather than in real time. Yield Clarity cannot place trades or move money. Other assets are tracked manually, and availability depends on the provider and your plan.
How often do values update?
Market-linked shares and funds refresh from market data several times a day, and supported cryptocurrencies more often; nothing is streamed in real time. Property, pensions, cash and other assets change when you record a new value. Connected accounts from supported brokers sync periodically.
