Financial independence planning for UK-based investors

Most FI planning tools are built for US investors. Yield Clarity works in GBP, understands ISA and SIPP wrappers, and handles multi-currency portfolios common among internationally mobile UK residents.

Built for UK investors

GBP as base currency

Your FI target, contributions, and withdrawal income are all modelled in GBP. No need to convert to USD and back.

ISA and SIPP tracking

Label holdings as ISA, SIPP, or general investment accounts. Assets in different wrapper types all contribute to your FI-eligible wealth.

Multi-currency for expats

If you've worked abroad and accumulated investments in USD, EUR, AED or other currencies, they appear alongside your GBP holdings — each in its native currency.

British English throughout

The interface uses £, British date formatting and terminology familiar to UK investors.

What Yield Clarity doesn't do

Transparency about limitations is as important as listing features. Here's what Yield Clarity does not currently model:

UK FI planning context

The FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) community in the UK has grown significantly. Common UK strategies include maximising ISA contributions for tax-free growth, using SIPPs for retirement savings with tax relief, and maintaining a cash buffer for early retirement years before pension access age.

Yield Clarity helps with the core calculation: given your current FI-eligible wealth, contribution rate, and return assumptions, when might your portfolio sustain your chosen retirement income? The 4% rule, commonly referenced in FIRE planning, is one of several withdrawal strategies available in the tool.
